Did nobody tell them about geo-engineering?

So the most recent predictions are out!  This week, a Guardian article highlighted that the International Energy Agency (IEA) study suggesting that at our current rate we have only 5 years left before reaching a critical climatic threshold and rendering ourselves to an irreversible climate.  Could such predictions see a push towards geo-engineering?
